So apparently, I look Vietnamese.

Despite my short hair.

And sunglasses (when it isn't raining).

And camouflage-pattern daypack.

And Tevas.

I don't get it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. In Canada or USA, some say I look native Canadian or American or Thai or Philippino. In Hawaii, several of the locals thought I was a fellow polynesian. In South east asia, I was thought to be Malaysian, Indonesian, Philippino, Thai and even yes, Cambodian. I don't get it myself. Being Bi-racial has its perks...universal appeal.

Yeah, I get into those "mistaken identity" situations too. It's just that in Vietnam, with my short hair and non-Vietnamese dressing, I really didn't think I'd ever pass for local.
