I thought the laptop battery would take longer to charge the first time, but it was raring to go after being plugged in for less than two hours, so who am I to stand in its way?
The million-dollar question now is: how much longer do I let myself play with this and rip music for the still-charging iPod, or do I be a good girl and get back to grading essays?

That's because the Mac isn't a PnP (plug and pray) device.
Let the kids wait for their essays, I say.
Nothing is more important than fiddling with the iPod and iBook!
Heheh.
congrats!!!
My IBM worked outta the box
Well, I weighed the pros and cons of completing my marking and ripping CDs --- and I decided I'd rather finish marking and have the weekend free for Mac fun, rather than to indulge now and suffer the consequences on the weekend.
What can I say, it seems that I'm a Protestant at heart after all.
Well, if you were a Mac-using Roman Catholic exorcist, it would be iBook, iBell and iCandle - and it iWorks straight out of the iBox and you can get straight back to your iLife...
oh goody! Skype me baby! And, I agree... marking essays now otherwise you won't get any sleep sunday night... and I don't wanna read any more of dem nasty red eye posts.
`wanderer --- I'm not remotely Catholic, but I appreciate the sentiment :)
